Description

This is an example of "extreme" imaging. From Tucson, AZ Omega Centauri (NGC 5139) barely floats 10 degrees above the horizon on the meridian. There is literally 30 minutes of time under the "best" conditions to peer through more than 5 airmasses and try to capture it. This was taken with a telescope within an observatory- at the altitude of Omega Cen, the telescope is significantly obstructed by the wall. In addition, Omega Centauri is due south and directly over the city as viewed from Mount Lemmon.  It is cool just to be able to get an image of it. If high overhead... this truly would be a wonder.

This image was featured in my video on the new deconvolution method BXT.
